OTT Day
Connected TV, hybrid and over-the-top (OTT) services are the TV growth story of 2012. Major consumer electronics manufacturers including Samsung, LG, Sony and Panasonic used this year’s Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas to showcase the latest innovations that are enabling consumers to get access to new content and services online direct to their TV screens.
But it’s not only TV manufacturers that see OTT and connected TV as the next big thing. Telcos and pay TV operators also believe there is an opportunity to use the growing functionality and sophistication of consumer devices to reach new customers and extend the range of services enjoyed by their existing subscribers more cost-effectively.
In central and eastern Europe as elsewhere, premium content providers are rushing to deliver ‘TV everywhere’ services while broadcasters are looking to establish a branded presence on connected platforms through the delivery of catch-up TV services. New internet-based players are also entering the market with a view of delivering premium and ad-funded services direct to consumers via the web, bypassing traditional distribution platforms.
There could be no better time to assess the state of play and likely future prospects for OTT and connected services in the region, which is why Informa Telecoms and Media is this year presenting a full day dedicated to OTT at Digital TV CEE.
Attend the OTT Day at Digital TV CEE to:
- Hear what the region’s dynamic new OTT service providers are doing and how they view the evolution of the market.
- Learn how existing broadcasters and pay TV service providers are addressing consumers’ demands to view content when, where and how they want.
- Discover what lessons have been learnt from existing deployments and how consumers are using new services.
- Find out about the key issues in delivering content rights that can enable new business models.
With contributions from leading players including CME, Ceska Televize, Romtelecom, Toya Poland, ER-Telecom Russia and TSMedia Slovenia, the OTT Day at Digital TV CEE is an event anybody seriously interested in the future of new TV distribution business models will want to attend.
